Oh and I remember going through a similar situation right outside Rata Sum. I was on my way to do Oola'd Lab HM. I was specced for the mission and completely forgot about the path to the lab. I had 2~3 adrenaline based W's and rest all casters. When I went outside and remember the different types of enemies to the lab, I figured I'd be ok since they're just wind riders.
The moment the match started all my W's got hit with Soothing. I figured, "W's still hit decently without attack skills, it's still good, it's still good."
The Wind Riders kept on interrupting my casters' spells. I figured, "They don't deal too much damage with their interrupts, it's still good, it's still good."
All my party was suffering from degen and slowly dying. I figured, "It's just a little degen, it's still good, it's still good."
My party was nearly dead. I figured, "They wasted all their interrupts by now and my healers should be able to heal, it's still good, it's still good."
Then another group of Wind Riders came since I didn't pull the first group far enough. Needless to say, I didn't survive and just ended up restarting from Rata Sum.
